LCOY Canada 2023 Organizing Team

The transition to a sustainable, eco-friendly Canadian future is not as easy as turning off the oil pumps and opening windfarms. To revert the damages of the past, Canadian youth must cooperate and work together to achieve sustainable development.

Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Canada 2023 is a United Nations event hosted by the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Forestry Asia Forest Research Centre and Human and Nature Youth Club. It is a conference for youth ages 15-35 and will be the second time UBC and HNYC are hosting the conference together. The conference will involve keynote speeches, workshops, presentations, and panel discussions surrounding the themes of the conference. By attending the conference youth will be able to voice the future they want to live in and it will be shared directly with the United Nations through the publishing of our Output Policy Document that will be incorporated with other LCOY policy documents from around around the world to be presented at the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28.

Youth ages 15 - 35 have the opportunity to join HNYC and be members of the LCOY Canada 2023 organizing team.
